Texas Beefaroni
Ground beef, tomatoes, spices, and tender elbow macaroni come together in Texas Beefaroni to make a hearty and comforting dish. Its a traditional Texan take on a childhood favorite thats great for a cozy family dinner or a potluck.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can 14
- 5 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
- 1 can 6 oz tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
Warm up the ground beef in a big pan over medium-low heat until it turns brown
Put in the minced garlic and diced onion
Cook until the onion turns clear
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, and mix well
Turn the heat down to low and cook for 10 minutes
Add elbow macaroni that hasnt been cooked and stir it around well
Put the lid back on and cook for another 10 to 12 minutes, or until the macaroni is soft
Take the food off the heat and top it with shredded cheddar cheese
Put the lid on top and wait 5 minutes for the cheese to melt
Enjoy while hot
