Perfect Sticky Rice for Sushi
This recipe makes sushi rice that is just the right amount of sticky, which is important for making tasty sushi rolls. When you mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt together, they give the rice a subtle sweetness and tanginess that makes it taste better.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/3 cup rice vinegar
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Run cold water over the sushi rice until the water is clear
In a rice cooker, put rice and water together and cook according to the manufacturers directions
Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan
Warm it over low heat until the sugar and salt are gone
Put the cooked rice in a large bowl, and then slowly stir in the vinegar mixture until everything is well mixed
Before making sushi, let the rice cool to room temperature
