Beer Bread Toasted Cheese
Adding beer bread and a mix of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses to your classic grilled cheese sandwich will make it taste even better. This recipe is quick and easy, and it makes a great snack or hearty lunch.
Ingredients:
- 4 slices of beer bread
- 4 oz about 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 oz about 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat
Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each beer bread slice
In a small bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese
Place two slices of beer bread, buttered side down, in the skillet or griddle
Sprinkle half of the cheese mixture evenly over the bread slices
Sprinkle the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper over the cheese
Top with the remaining slices of beer bread, buttered side up
Cook the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey
Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing
